About Andrea
The deepest sickness of our time is not being at home with ourself ~ Tara Brac
Collaboration AND CONNECTION
Originally from Eugene, Oregon in the USA, Andrea resides in the Dandenong ranges, Australia.
Professionally, Andrea’s career was inspired by a man on a bus when she was 18. After telling him that her strongest interests were people and creativity, he suggested she should work in a mental hospital as an art therapist. Back then she didn’t know that art therapists even existed. Several years later on her first day starting her first art therapy job at Casey Hospital Psyche Ward, she remembered that conversation.
Her current work follows on from her formal training in Transpersonal Art Therapy at the Phoenix Institute (2004) and her MA from Melbourne Institute for Experiential and Creative Arts Therapies (MIECAT) (2021). Andrea has worked in a range of community development and art therapy roles integrating her learnings and experience of more than 15 years as an art therapist. She is currently working for Windana facilitating groups and individual sessions for adults in drug and alcohol recovery.
